why it's awesome to #liveon campus

care

Get better grades

National studies show students who live on campus earn higher GPAs and are more likely to graduate.

Receive support

Residence hall staff live in the halls and are always available for support, assistance, and advice. Undergraduate students serve as Residence Assistants (RAs) and graduate students serve as Residence Directors (RDs).

Live safe

University Police provides 24-hour campus security. Residence halls have card-access systems, smoke/heat detectors, and sprinkler systems. The Residence Hall Association sponsors a bus service that provides late-night transportation across campus.

Be served

Your room and board costs are all inclusive covering food, electric, cable, internet, phone, furniture, water, trash, and building maintenance. Look at all costs and conveniences when comparing with living off campus.

comfort

Live close

You are just a short walk from everything you need—classrooms, library, computer labs, student support services, faculty offices, parking. And everything you want—Ship Rec center, student union, dining halls, and stores (like the bookstore, Starbucks, and Papa Johns).

Gather together

Each residence hall has spaces for getting together—lounges with comfy furniture, kitchens for cooking or baking, game rooms for hanging with friends.

Get connected

Free wireless network access is offered across campus.

Enjoy college more

National studies show students who live on campus are more satisfied with their college experience. You have one opportunity for the total college experience and the rest of your life to live off campus.

community

Meet your best friends

Life-long bonds develop when you live and play together.

Expand culturally

Meet people from diverse populations.

Work, lead, and serve

Help plan activities and step into leadership through the Hall Council, Residence Hall Association, and National Residence Hall Honorary. Become an RA or Desk Assistant.

Make an impact

Voice your concerns in person to the University President and other administrators during President’s Hour, held late evenings in the residence halls.

Have fun

Go to athletic events, concerts, and special lectures. Join student organizations. Make the most of your college experience—it’s part of your education and looks good on your resume.
